Lagavulin (Lah-gah-voo-lin)

Jason called me yesterday and said he was stopping by to drop something off. I thought it would be eggs since we're always asking for them. Nope. .75 Liters of pure, mahogany colored, sweet, peaty goodness known of as Lagavulin 16 yr. old. Wow. No, what I mean is WOW!

This scotch, to date is the absolute best I've had. I've had the Lagavulin 10 and it was good. This...much better. I would love to describe it in a way that would leave others saying, "Man, that guy is sophisticated and knows his scotch whiskey!". However, all I can get out about this scotch is Woo-doggie! (Yes, like Jed Clampit)

It is peaty yet sweet, smooth but stings the nose, rich yet maintains a light fruity overtone. Like I said... Woo-doggie!

Here are some pics of said bottle.

If you've got friends like mine, politely ask for a bottle of this Scotch nectar. Or, I guess you could go buy a bottle yourself. But where's the fun in that?

Oh, and I am so taken aback that I can't even fit in a Hasselhoff reference for this one.

If it's a true Scotch, wouldn't it be whisky, and not whiskey?

They know who butters there bread. We American's don't like our words misspelled. Fiber, not Fibre. Theater, not Theatre. Cray UK spelling. Fo' Sho'.
