Late at night, usually around 11:30PM or so I receive a text message on my cell phone about the Hip-Hop scene. This only makes sense, because I am such a HUGE Hip-Hop fan. Wait, that's not me. I pretty much hate that crap. So why am I receiving messages daily from the numbers 757-14 and 372-15? Hmmmm.....
That's right! It's a scam. Somehow, they are getting numbers and automatically adding these to the subscribers list. And I almost forgot the best part! They ONLY charge $9.99 per month for this service. That's a steal!!
Apparently, I was forced into this by using the site Myxer.com. This site has free cellphone wallpapers, ringtones, etc. Somewhere hidden in the fine print, I bet it has some form of agreement that you are pushed into for only $9.99 per month.
Awesome.
Here are more complaints and a way to get off the list. http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ringaza-c40282.html
Even the Hoff would be angry with this!

Hi, Ernie.
I'm sorry to hear about you getting flooded with text messages and/or getting scammed by those $9.99/month guys. I wanted to drop you a note to clear up a couple of things about Myxer (a company I founded):
1. Myxer does not and never has had subscription services.
2. Myxer does not share your phone number with anyone.
3. The only time Myxer sends you anything is when you very specifically ask for it.
Myxer has spent its entire existence over the past 4 years working diligently to distance ourselves from unscrupulous companies in the mobile content space. I know there are some scummy companies out there, but I want to assure you that Myxer has served our 20 million users with their best interests at heart, and not with the intention of misleading or abusing them.

Wow. Myxer actually responded.
**Update**
Myxer absolutely WAS NOT the cause of my woes. I apologize to Myk and the whole Myxer.com staff.
I didn't read the fine print on a Facebook app and THAT was what got me.
Again, my apologies.
Well Ernie, it's cool to see someone stand up and publicly apologize and admit they're wrong. Way to go. I am very new to the smart phone and all these apps that can turn your phone into just about any tool you could ever need(by the way, can you direct me to the apps for turning my phone into a hotplate or a commode?). But one thing i've learned from desktops and laptops is always read the fine print and E.U. reviews. That has saved me from many a heartache in costly repairs or new computers. Hard lesson to learn, but a very good lesson.
